Thought for the Day

BE MAN OF ACTION!


Theodore Roosevelt once said ,

"It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat. "

This really doesn't need anything added to it. It has been an inspiration to me since I first came across it. Are there areas in your life you need to "step into the arena" ?

So many things can dissuade us from taking action. So often it can be what I call the "paralysis of analysis", where you spend so much time weighing the pros and cons that the window of opportunity closes. I am not advocating a "leap before you look mindset" but rather encouraging those who have a tendency to sit on the fence to jump into the fray.

Maybe you need to start your "prepping" for the unforseen, maybe it's that project around the house, maybe it's taking that all important first step toward more quality time with family, or maybe it's buckling down and doing your daily devotions. Whatever the case may be, get started and make it happen!
