The Painful Truth

A few thoughts about OWS(Occupy Wall-Street).

Those who are protesting all have one thing in common, a sense of entitlement that has ran amok.

First of all, no one is "entitled" to anything. This is a mindset that arises out of self-pity which is a fruit if self-idolatry. They are convinced that somehow, life didn't "deal" them a fair hand and that the "priviledged" (which they refer to as the 1%) was just handed everything and that they owe them. I've got news for them, LIFE ISN'T FAIR. However, we all get a good enough hand to get by and it's up to us whether or not we make our way. Everyone has certain gifts and talents and its up to us to use them to the utmost. I have found that when we honestly exert ourselves in a worthwhile endeavor, more often than not, there is a reward. I have been around long enough to have learned that nothing worth having comes easy. Just as I have seen the modestly talented make it through hard work and preserverance, I have seen the talented and advantaged squander their lives into poverty, drug addiction and misery. I wonder if any of the OWS protestors have considered but for a moment that if they put the same effort they do protesting into getting a job or some entprenereual endeavor where they would be?

Everything has a price tag. It's the sweat of our brow that pays for it. Whether it be education, homes, cars, food or whatever there is a cost involved somewhere. The sooner they realize this, the sooner they might catch some feeling of having done something worthwhile.
